Naturum Kullaberg
Naturum Kullaberg is a nature visitor center on the Kullaberg peninsula. You don’t really come here for the Naturum itself or its aquariums, but for the surroundings: the Kullaberg Nature Reserve, with coastal views, caves, hiking trails, and interesting wildlife. The aquarium part is very small and more of a bonus.
There are three aquariums in total: two standard tanks and one touch pool meant for education. They don’t keep anything particularly unusual, and species signage is quite limited. During my visit, some of the signed species included corkwing wrasse (symphodus melops), goldsinny wrasse (ctenolabrus rupestris), european plaice (pleuronectes platessa), common whelk (buccinum undatum), red whelk (neptunea antiqua), blow lugworm (arenicola marina), common starfish (asterias rubens), carcinus maenas, and rockpool shrimp (palaemon elegans).
This wasn’t a visit about rare species for me. It was simply about seeing the place, documenting what’s there, and enjoying the area.
If you’re already visiting Kullaberg, it’s worth stopping by. Just don’t expect a large aquarium experience. The real highlight here is the landscape, not the tanks.
